This workshop is all about the history and culture of the Fest Noz.
These breton dance events have stood the test of time and are still going strong. In this workshop we’ll look at videos and images collected in the past to get a better understanding on how we got to the point we are now. As well as learning dances such as an-dro, gavotte, and laridé, we will look at their history to see how they came to be and how (bal) folk influenced them.
This workshop will be about more than just dancing.
Expect to get a nice taste of culture while also being involved in some singing (no French knowledge required).

Leo Visser is a balfolk dancer and teacher based in the Netherlands. In his dynamic and energetic classes, he imparts a wealth of cultural knowledge, as well as precisely observed dance technique.
